These games are great. Baseball during the 70's was my childhood. Going to Milwaukee County🏟Stadium🏟 during those years will be some of the most iconic and special memories and times I ever had. However I also love ⚾️Baseball⚾️ no matter who's playing. On Saturday afternoons there was absolutely nothing like the "Game of the Week!" Getting to watch National League games were great since the Brewers were an American League team then. So watching the Dodgers, Mets, Astros, the Big Red Machine, the Expos(one of my favorite teams in the NL), the Phillies, and other great teams and players I didn't always get to watch, was always fun! Nolan Ryan, Steve Carlton, Don Sutton, Gaylord Perry, and later into the 80's, Fernando Valenzuela and Doc Gooden. Players/Hitters like Steve Garvey, Pete Rose, Mike Schmidt, Joe Morgan, and again a bit later, Darryl Strawberry. Willie Stargell, Dave Parker, and before Roid-Boy Bonds head grew to twice it's size, him as well. Bonds had speed and a wicked bat. There were some phenomenal players back then. Baseball was such a great place for kids to spend an afternoon or evening. There was NOTHING better than having your Dad hand you your Ticket to the game as you walked into your team's 🏟Stadium🏟!! Watching your team warm up, taking batting practice, if you were lucky enough to be able to head down to the 1st row and get an autograph. I was extremely lucky since the Brewers parking area wasn't fenced off or blocked off. After games kids could wait for the players to come out and most of them would take some time and sign autographs for you. Not always but usually. Being able to meet players like Robin Yount, Paul Molitor, Gorman Thomas, Ben Oglive, Jim Gantner, Charlie Moore, Lary Sorenson, Moose Haas, Billy Travers, Pete Ladd, and my all-time favorite player Mike Caldwell! Those were really special times! Those were days that are forever etched in my memories. Special, very special memories. Mom, Dad, the ballpark, 🌭🌭Hotdogs🌭🌭, 🌭🌭Brats🌭🌭, 🌭🌭Polish🌭Sausages🌭🌭, 🍟🍟French-Fries🍟🍟 and the ol` standard, 🍿🍿Popcorn🍿🍿, 🥜🥜Peanuts🥜🥜, and Applejacks and anything else you could eat!! LOL. 🥨🥨🍫🍫🍦🍦🍨🍨🍭🍭🍬🍬🥤🥤🥤🥤, and for Mom & Dad 🍺🍻Beer!🍻🍺!! The summers of 1977, 78, 79, 80, 81, and 82 were made extra special because of the above reasons I have mentioned. Thank you Mom, thank you Dad! Thanks to baseball, and Thank God.

I have no idea how this match did not end early with a DQ, but this was still early on in the career of the Road Warriors, and they did not finalize their face paint design until a little later on.

Man, Efren Herrera is a lousy kicker!! He shanked the ball all over the Vet that day. He did the same thing in SB 12 too. I see why they switched to Septien in 78.

Funny the Broncos won't have a solid victory like this in all of the 2024 season. They just won their first preseason game against the Colts today. They will probably only win 7 or 8 more games all year.

Plenty of good seats available. LOL. I have no idea how the Giants managed to stay in SF all those years. I recall the rumors in the early 80s about San Jose but it never materialized. I love sports of this era.

I would rather watch this match than what they shit out today. WWE has gotten better since Vince left but 80s wrestling is the best. They used to know how to sell back then. They used to know how to sell it as a real fight and they knew how to throw believable worked punches. This is a perfect example of less IS more! Gordy and Flair.. 2 of the best ever.

I remember this game well. I was 16 and watched this whole game along with my father on a Sunday afternoon that felt more like a hot summer day. Rooting for the NYG was heartbreaking back then. The G-Men turned the corner the next season as Lawrence Taylor arrived and changed everything.

The legendary Sonny "Rough House" Fargo your referee. Jackie must not have had to sign him out of the Nut House (which is the gimmick they used in Memphis in the 70s. Jackie would need help for a tag match and he'd go to Lance Russell and say "Now you made me go and do it. I signed Rough House out of the hospital.") Watch some of Jackie and Rough House's tag matches in the 70s.
